No they dont. The first thing they do is take your policy number

    :rotfl: :rotfl: Love it.

But seriously, the OP has come on here with a serious request for help for what must be a horrible situation. Withabix, you obviously have issues with the insurance industry as a whole and you raise some commonly held opinions, however, would it not be better to start a new thread to have that debate so that the OP does not lose heart with this forum and may well then get some much needed help/advice?
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.

Thank you!1 i was just reading through all the comments and about to make my own!! But you are right Withabix has hijacked the thread with his comments - which are subjective! please ignore!!

At the end of he day, unfortunately, you will have to prove that the damage was caused by an insured peril- speak to those neighbours in a similar position and use their case history to assist yours!!

    Good Luck

"The insurer has decided that there is no evidence that the damage caused is a direct result of the flooding on 2007.
It would appear that the rise in the water table has caused the damage. Under the Accidental Damage section of the policy there are exclusions in respect of "any other gradually operating cause" and also "changes to atmospheric conditions"

On this basis your Insurer regret to advise they are unable to deal with your claim on this occasion.

The above red text the only correspondence received and it was sent via the loss adjusters.

Who was your loss adjuster. It was probally Cunningham Lindsey of Crawfords? Either way the wording suggests that your insurers have declined your claim on their own after the adjuster submitted their report. RBS Insurance don't like these secondry flood claims (particuarly their Leeds Technical Claims team). I'd strongly recomend your fight this, they will back down as they know the FOS wont support them.

I'm sorry your having these problems. Claims Handlers and Loss Adjusters are bound by the decisions of the Technical Teams. When you call your insurers - ask to speak to the handler, tell him/her your recording the call, ask them to write to you explaining their reasoning and detailing any evidence they have. Post their reply here and we will see what we can do.
