Velux automatic window opener

We are converting a barn and in the roof are about to fit a couple of Velux windows. One of them is above a stairwell and I am not too happy about hanging around with a long pole to open it! I know they do electricc window openers with a remote control or keypad, but my builders merchant has quoted over 250 plus vat. Any ideas on where I can get them cheaper?
