Thank you for all your replies. From what you are saying I thinking option 1 put into the Halifax Share account. My price of shares was fixed at £2.97 and they are now £3.50. I am not in a rush to cash all the shares in as at the beginning of last year they went up to £6 so I am more than happy to leave some of the shares. Basically I want to buy all they shares and have the easy way of selling say £4k for the cash and leave the reamaining £3k as shares until they get back up to the £6 mark again.

Am I right in choosing option number 1?

Nearly an 18% gain - so looks reasonable. Was this a 3 or 5 year scheme? Did you check what interest had accrued as an alternative?

Single share investing is quite high risk and you don't have the protection of the share save scheme to do it in now its matured. Have you thought about investing in a diversified fund or diversified portfolio instead?

I think so. You should be able to sell portions easily at your discretion.

Hi it was a 3 year scheme. If you think option 1 is the easiest option I will go with that as talking about diversified funds etc sounds complicated so I think I will stick to option 1.
