look out for miscellaneous extra charges, like ............
daily or weekly fees, connection charges, %age surcharges, minimum charges, units of over a minute ... and a mandatory payphone access charge per call

the Bizon card from Masterbell looks reasonable to me at about 2.3c/min via an 800 number, but there are probably cheaper ones

I leave the phone number of where I'll be staying and then I phone home on an agreed number of rings---usually two ----and no-one answers but phones
back using 1899.
It works a treat.

fine, but sometimes it might be useful to call more than just one member of the family

I forgot to say in the first post that many cards have different rates from local area code numbers and via 800 numbers, and this is another thing to check in the small print
