Since private schools choose to give you a place, can they take it away more easily than a state school?
There was something in the news recently about someone trying to reverse 'Marlborough College's' decision to expell someone - I don't know the details of the case but the school won.

  • The school will have a suspension procedure and disciplinary code to which parents would have signed up along with the other rules.

This doesn't take away a child's basic rights, but the procedure will almost certainly have passed a school inspection, and so the key thing is has the school acted fairly towards your child in followed their own procedures relating to breaches of the school rules.

Private schools duty of care and own responsibility usually extends to finding a suitable alternative in the private sector where a fresh start is possible.

If we are talking about a suspension rather than an expulsion, then that's such an unusual occurence or big deal - although it shouldn't be taken lightly by the child concerned if he or she is going to learn from their mistakes.

    But this is all waffle.
