im am so fed up with scottish power

we changed to scottish power on 19th may 08 and have had nothing but trouble , we had to request a new electric key 3 times eventually got one in august. in nov we but £15 on the key when we put it in the metre only£10 went on so we phoned and they said we owed them £200 i said how but it was because we paid edf for 3 months so they had to claim it back then we would get refund from them so thy have taken £5/£6 ever time we top up meter since nov , so after 2 weeks of phoning and not getting through or getting through then they put me on hold for 20 mins till i finally had enough and put phone down.I gave my mobile no once i did got through but they still phoned my house the next day when i was at work.

well today i phoned them and was told that they had recieved payment back from edf and asked for meter reading to establish how much i would be refunded but i was at work so had to phone back onight and gave it to them to be told that i owe £27 i went made explain situation so she then says that they havent had refund from edf yet . so after saying well woman told me today you have she then said well it as not their fault i never got my key and they wont refund money they have taken for last month.

Im so angry so not only did they get money back from edf they are still taking £5 each time i put key in.

does anyone know if i change supplier and get new key wil scottishe power still be able to take money from my meter.

A key from a new supplier should remove any debt from a meter and reset it so the previous supplier will not be able to action anything. If I was you though I would not move until you get a refund of the extra you have paid as it will be harder if you switch suppliers again. Getting money from the other suppliers usually takes 6 weeks so keep on at them.

You really need to put your complaint in writing to the manager of the customer service department. Do you have all the times/ dates you rang and the names of the staff you spoke to?
