SP2 or Zone Alarm firewall

Could someone please help me . I have just installed SP2 and it now tells me I have 2 firewalls and recommends that I only have one .

Which do you guys recommend ? and if it is Zone Alarm (as I suspect )what settings should I make on the Windows one ?. At the moment it says on the Windows Security essentials that the Windows firewall is on.... then when I go into Firewall Settings it says it is not protected (?the shield with a tick is not selected) I am a bit confused. Please help

  • it's telling you that it's not protected because you've disabled the firewall. It's only looking at changes made to that switch and not what is running on your machine.

Personally i'd disable it n'all and stick with Zonealarm

    Thanks s.g :)

so the Security essentials is telling me a firewall is on (but not Windows ) and the Firewall settings are telling me that I have not enabled Windows firewall ? So leave everything as it is ? 8)

    Thanks . I just seemed to have a mental block !! :)

There is a setting somewhere in the Windows Security Centre to the effect that you have your own firewall and do not want Windows to monitor it.
How do I add a signature?
