Natwest turned down an overdraft request for an unexpected reason..

I bank with Natwest and recently I applied Online for a small overdraft and was declined for Reasons of "Bankruptcy"
Now I have previously had a CCJ against my name (which is no longer on file as it is over 6 yrs old). I have no IVA's on my credit file for Experian or Equifax files or anything else really bad. I do have a some missed payments etc culminating in a fairly poor credit score.
The one thing i guess this may be due to is a loan i had to take with Natwest a few years back when i got into payment difficulties with my Personal loan.
What happened was i changed jobs and the date i got paid moved to the 15th of the month. This meant i needed to change the paymenr date and when the bank refused to do that they gave me the one option of paying off my loan and overdraft at once with a loan that had a 24.1% APR. Dug into a deep hole with a CCJ on file I had to accept. It kept my payments the same but the loan period moved to 5 years.
I was told that at the time i couldnt have any overdraft or switch card for 6 months. However this was 2 and a half years ago. Its probably unlikely id get an overdraft anyway as my account isnt always ran in credit however i feel the bank are misrepresenting my position as they arent credit scoring me correctly.
I have recently taken out a secured loan to clear the balance of this (and some other) credit so the loan will be paid off soon.
Anybody have advice in this situation?

If they have libelled you then you may have a case for compensation BUT you to have to prove that you have incurred a loss because of this.
In this case it looks unlikely but I certainly would print everything off and send a letter to their Customer Relations department.0
