Sorry, what I meant was, do you just tie a knot in the bag and pop it in the freezer - or do you have special bags?0

Sorry annie-c... misunderstood!
Tonight I have used some 'Pour & Store' bags with a special seal, however they are quite expensive and will next time use a good quality freezer bag and tie a knot!
Hopefully a more experienced 'souper' will come along and be a bit more helpful0 -
Best way to clean a stick blender is to immerse the working end in a large bowl of warm water straight after use and give it a whizz.0

Thanks, I'll try this - my freezer is jam-packed at the moment!0 -

That's what I do....I give mine a whizz in the washing up bowl, but just make sure you don't do what I did and leave the dish cloth in there too. It took forever to untangle.

If I freeze soup in bags, I usually use those small sandwich ones which come with the metal ties. However, I just double knot the top and stick them in the freezer with the knot upwards. I've never had any leakage - just remember to put the bag inside a bowl when you defrost it.
Lately I've been using those reuseable plastic cartons (like from the takeaways, altho I bought mine) They stack well and are easier to take with me if I need to take lunch along.0 -
I normally sit my freezer bag inside a suitable freezer proof container, then fill, freeze, and then take the frozzed item out of the container and stack it. That means I get uniform sizes and shapes that will stack well, any possible leaks stay in the pot - yet I don't need lots of containers.
