Is worth asking for a limit increase now???- Virgin cc

Hello all, sorry for another virgin cc thread.

I have applied for Virgin cc in december and got accepted with a limit of 4800, transferred the balance...all is happy and well.
Recently i read on a different thread that when you activate your card, if asked they might increase the limit, provided they are happy!

So, I was wondering if its a good idea to ask them now....i still didn't receive my first statement yet, should be receiving at around 16th Jan! I am hoping for a 1000 - 1500 more!

Is it worth trying? did anyone else try this? Please give me your opinions...Thanks for your help.

...and if they do agree to take a look (doubtful under their policy rules), you'll incur another credit search...which would be better used in making another application somewhere else IMHO.

The best time to ask for a limit increase is either at the end of the phone application, or during the activation call. Otherwise, you're generally stuck with what you get for at least 6 months...and possibly until you're outside the intro period (especially if you've maxed the card out and only ever made minimum payments).

Thanks clio and YorkshireBoy! I'll refrain from asking them if its another credit search.....not too desperate, but thought of reducing an intrest paying balance. Its not worth the risk as u point out!

    Thanks again both!
