Abby CC owned by Co-op?

And I thought today was my lucky day

Just found out my dad is clear of his cancer :j Have got all money together for BR fees, Finally understanding soa and now another problem.

I was just filling out court forms and when listing OHs Abbey credit card it says co-operative bank MBNA. Let me guess, this is the same co-op who we are trying to open a cashmonder with isn't it? This could mean big problems!!

Abbey's credit cards were managed by MBNA until Abbey took them back in house following the Santander takeover.

As to the Co-op Bank link, I can only guess that the MBNA clearing account is via the Co-op bank per below:

    :hello:
Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.

    Hi,

Co-op are a creditor of mine and I have a Cashminder. I spoke to the Co-op about this yeterday. See:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1378271

Now I go BR next week and needed to tell my finance dept of a new bank account before then - bad timing. I went and rang the Co-op again this morning to double check. I was told that when I tell the Co-op I'm BR the Cashminder will be frozen for 48 hours, then unfrozen. My finance dept are now changing the account into which Jans payroll is payed into - Cashminder.

If you're unsure, ring the Cashminder number (the one you apply for one on), just say your names "Jo", explain the situation and ask what will happen to your Cashminder.

    Mr E.
  • Ok so hopefully the account will still be opened as OH needs to get his salary paid into it asap. if it is frozen when BR will explain to the OR that it was opened for BR and has essential household outgoings in it. I was worried that my co-op creditor would be able to take money from the account? Also have a debt with barclays so not keen on them getting hold of my account either!

Good luck to your mum with her cancer, it certainly puts things into perspective doesn't it
