Paying an MBNA bill over a bank counter?

Hi
I need to pay off an MBNA Alliance & Leicester credit card bill ASAP, it's due on 24 July.
Unfortunately MBNA no longer give useful information on the back of their statements, like how many working days each payment method takes. Naturally the A&L website doesn't contain any such useful information, just daft FAQs like "do I have to close my other credit card accounts when I open an account with you".
I'm assuming that the quickest way is to pay cash over a bank counter.
I'm thinking either Alliance & Leicester (because it's a A&L card) or Co-operative Bank (because the slip on the statement shows MBNA Europe Bank Ltd at Co-operative Bank).
Which do you think would clear the quickest? Thanks

If you pay by cash I would think it will show on the account sooner as it will be registered against the account whilst you're in the bank. I would take it to the Alliance & Leicester branch on Monday morning when the bank opens.
If you have a 24 hour phone facility with the card you could always call them and ask what the quickest method of payment is. They should even be able to tell you whether to go to Alliance & Leicester or Co-operative Bank. If you do this, get the operators name. If you then take their advice you have solid grounds for an immediate late fee refund.

By debit card at AandL.com is your only bet to hit Tuesday. Paying cash at a branch is not as quick as the previous poster suggests.
Why not set up adirect debit to pay the minimum off each month?0 -

The site will automatically advise of the minimum payment due (and the least amount you are allowed to pay by debit card) A payment made one Monday will 'clear' onto the account on Tuesday (as needed) and show up there by Wednesday dated '24th July'.Bloke_with_a_simple_life wrote: »By debit card at AandL.com is your only bet to hit Tuesday. I]BTW the A&L credit card phone number 08000 688 638 gives access to current and savings account customer service too - thus bypassing their ghastly '0845' number. Just press '2' and follow the remaining prompts[/I.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0
