printer problem please help!

i have an epsom printer connected to pc, it shows on my programs list, however when i try to print i get message that no printer could be found.
so i tried to install a lexmark, problems again,
during installation i get message - application failed to start because mscms.dll not found
also
device installer errror
could not load installer for image
any help/advice appreciated!

mscms.dll comes with SP2 go and see if you need any XP updates..

I would also remove both printer connections then uninstall
from add/remove programs then do a scandisk then defrag
and then reinstall from a fresh.
