Reward Card? Purchasing new Windows!

Hi
We are about to go ahead and order new double glazing windows, at £5650!
Is there anything we can do to get cashback when we pay, or something similar?
Do we need a reward card? What type? etc etc.
It is a local Window supplier that is doing the work, so not a chain company.
Many Thanks
Steve

Firstly I'd check if they'll allow you to pay with a credit card, and if so what types they accept and whether they'll charge an extra admin fee for doing so. A lot of companies will charge 2-3% as this is what they'll be charged to process the transaction. If they do expect you to pay that then it's probably not worth doing.
If they take AMEX then you could try applying for one of their platinum cashback cards that gived 5% cashback for the first three months - I think there's there's a limit of £200 cashback though, so only the first £4000 cost would count. You'd also need a pretty good credit record to get a limit big enough to be able to pay for the whole transaction.
Other than that you could try to get a '0% purchases' credit card which would mean that you could put the cost onto it and then keep the money in a savings account until the 0% period is up (making sure you pay the minumum required of fthe credit card each month). But with the low interest rates on savings accontus these days it's hardly worth it.
Probably your best way of saving the most money is to haggle with the window company into reducing the price in the first place - but it sounds like it might be a bit late for that...0 -
Thanks for that - its worth ringing to see if they accept Amex and dont charge me, I doubt it though.
Thanks
