Free Cinema Tickets - Discussion thread

I have to say I think Quoia has some very valid points.
As a subscriber of a couple of magazines, I'd be pretty peeved if I didn't get the week's freebie whether it be the free bag or the free cinema ticket. i think Empire readers have been pointing this out on their blog site for a while.
In the good old days (I've been doing this for about 7 years now) you bought the magazine and took the coupon along and exchanged it for a ticket and it worked just fine.
From the cinema's point of view, that can be a hassle with queues of people in to get free tickets holding up those that are there to spend money.
How about a compromise in that you buy the mag, it has a code and a voucher. You e-mail the code and instead to e-mailing you a ticket, it e-mails you a code to wriet on your voucher or it's a ticket to which you attach your voucher - a bit like the Sunday Times idea?
that way if you get the code on sites like this if you want to go you go and buy the magazine and bingo you have both and can go. You are happy and the distributor is happier as the posssibility of the right demographic going is increased as are the magazine sales?
Still, you can't please all of the people all of the time.Jillsa0 -
Wow, okay, no need to lose the plot about it. I only asked for the thread link...
You will ALWAYS find numptys in this thread (or the code one) who take getting a free cinema ticket waaaaay too seriously and will shoot people down in flames for asking a simple question.
Quite pathetic, but gives me a good laugh to see them all get their knickers in a twist at times.0 -
Sign up to See Film First and you could get the chance to see films before they’re released for free. Once you’ve signed up you will receive emails with a screening code which you can enter into the website to receive the free tickets!!!0

Congratulations! :T I posted the comp on the cinema tickets thread and also on the regular comps board. It's nice to see a winner from it. I've replied to your thread on the I won! board. Have a lovely time.0
