Whos Fault, Mine or Kitchen Designer ???

Hi all. back in early october i ordered a kitchen from B&Q after having one of their designers come round to design it all, one of the questions i asked was that could we get a door to fit our slimline dishwasher and we were told "yes definately, i'll put one on the order." we received the kitchen end of october and ive just had it fitted by a friend who left a 450mm gap for the dishwasher, he fitted all the cabinets and worktops and i fitted all the doors but when i came to fit the dishwasher i noticed their was no door for it. i went into the store and tried to order one and apparently they dont make a 450mm door for the kitchen i've got after i was told they did. so now i think im gonna have to change that side of the kitchen which will mean replacing the worktop.
what are the chances of B&Q sorting this out or are they just gonna tell me to go away and its my own problem
Thanks
Dave

Sounds like the designers fault to me, but if you dont have it in writing then it will be difficult to get them to help you.
What sort of doors are they ? is it possible to get a wider door cut down to the right size ?
Or are they too ornamental?“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -
ive got all the paperwork that was given to me (fixed quote, item list etc).
its not a posh kitchen
just the ivory classic one from B&Q. to be honest i was thinking of getting a 500mm door and getting someone to cut it down but i think it would look out of place.
when i went in to check and they said they dont do it, i asked why and they sad "because its only a budget kitchen and they only make 450mm doors for the more expensive ones". personally i think thats a bit stupid.0 -
I have just looked at the BnQ site and they do make a 300mm door AND a 150mm door, so both of these together would fill the gap.
It would just look like 2 cupboards when the dishwash was closed.

Instead of just pasting the link into the box, type the title of the link, or just type HERE or something, then select it and click on the button just above the box you type in, it looks like a globe/planet with a paperclip infront of it. then paste the link you want to send people to into the box that comes up
Like this:
HERE
Then it will turn the text you selected blue and will change to the link!
I'm not sure anyone will understand my rambly non technical explanation but nevermind!!!!0 -
ok, I am going to look dumb here...
What box ?
All I usually do is cut and past the link straight into my posts.?“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -
