we moved into a new house in june, and have had problems with our gas since.
we have gas central heating which we hardly use,
but when we use our gas cooker problems start, we are ok if we use 1 gas ring as soon as we start using more than 1 or put the oven on (which is gas) the gas on the other rings starts lowering, my partner says maybe theres no enough gas coming through ? could they be right?

we had a gas inspection and he said the gas presurre is correct, but we had no problems with this cooker at our old house,
what can we do to get it to work correctly....

cooking seems to take for ever if we need more than 1 ring on at a time..

    Who did the Gas Inpection?

Firstly if you are seeing reduce pressure on a Domestic Supply you should call the National Emergencies Telephone number 0800 111 999.

They will attend and test the pressure at incoming and at the Pressure Regulator to ensure it is around 21 millibars with your appliances on. If it is within the guideline pressure then there could be an internal piping or appliance issue. They will also identify a possible issue with the meter and replace if needed. If the incoming pipe regulator and meter are fine and in working order then:

Recommendation would be to arrange for a Corgi Registered engineer to inspect your intenal pipework and cooker. He will condict tests on both to see why there is a pressure drop over your pipes and appliance from the meter.

Also if you have a cooker with a fold down lid, ensure that the lid is fully vertical as if it isnt, the gas cutoff valve may be restricting the flow.

Regardless of new Build or not or new meter or cooker. Just because its new doesn't mean its not faulty or not installed correctly.

For example who knows that accidently when building your house and installing your internal pipes to the cooker outlet a builder didnt drop your worksurface onto the cooker gas pipe and bent it a little, so when you turn on two rings it cant get enough flow of gas.

I minor thing if the meter is third party property they cannot replace but will make safe.
