Cost £280 to get fixed !!!!! £80 for pump plus vat £10 for coolant and 4 hours labor, at least I stopped driving it straight away to save head gasket being replaced
for future ref I'd look around for cheaper labour rates. (I think I paid £30 an hour before christmas at my local garage)Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -
You may have a leak on the radiator or it may be a leak with the connecting pipes.
Keep topping it up as your blow the head if you drive it dry and it over heats!! :eek:0 -

I have a 1.4 zetec which has had some coolant issues.
You could also try the following:
1. Check the reservoir holding the coolant is ok (mine had a hairline split which the coolant was escaping from when hot - you couldn't see it with the naked eye though). Also check the reservoir cap. (cheap to repair)
2. Possibility of a pump failure (over £100 to repair)
3. Hoses could be loose or split (don't know how much this repair would cost)0 -
First, headgasket failure on a Fiesta is highly, highly unlikely. I work with these engines day in - day out, and I'm also one of the people who has part of running the UK's largest Fiesta club, trust me, I know my Fiestas.
Never seen a Fiesta "HGF" even when abused to the nth degree!

no coolant will lead to the head gasket blowing, but your not there yet.
most likely just a leak somewhere or another, you would know if it was more serious as you would have exhaust 'blow' within the engine, white liquid under the oil cap for the engine, or a loud ticking noise over and above the engine noise from the cylinders, or all 3! i did!Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
