Unenforceable Credit Agreements

To me it is laughable to talk about morals in regards to an institution eg bank, lender etc..Any company is amoral, in fact they are obliged to maximise profit by shareholders, in any way possible.. Is it right that Banks lent money to thirld world dictators while their people starved? that is immoral.. and when those loans dont get paid back, they charge us. The laws in this country greatly favour financial bodys over consumers, and the few laws available to protect us, need to be guarded carefully lest they be swept away in a bank-sponsored, media-backed moral panic over lax lending. Oh yeah.. lax lending..who's paying Bln's in extra interest due to the credit crunch.. yep .. mortgage holders... amount of Bankers bonus's sent back? a round figure.

When someone has to resort to bad language they have effectively lost the argument.
pt2357 I don't know if you have gone for good, but I believe you have been treated in an unpleasant and uncouth manner for simply expressing an opinion. I would thank you for offering an insight into this process and apologise for the comments that you have received from others.0 -

There's no need to be a martyr Nick (as much as im sure you'd like to make yourself out to be) and apologise for others posting, its not your place.
All there was is a simple difference of opinion. He has his views, I have mine. Just because he has different ones doesn't mean i'm going to throw all the toys out of the cot and never post again.
Some people need to grow a spine and realise that people can get on with the difference of opinion.0 -

Fair enough I agree with you on this, but the bad language was completely unnecessary.0 -
Completely, but its easier to ignore it0

It's sad really, because the guy did bring something to the forums...for those in the 'sub-prime' category.0 -
It's his decision to leave, no one elses. I for one won't certainly be giving the big 'I'm leaving just because someone doesnt agree with me'. We've had a discussion, for someone who is in the legal industry surely he gets these kind of things everyday & thus, should realise that difference of opinion exists. Such then if anyone starts to go a bit further to that to just simply ignore it.
To start suggesting that people 'leave' is just pathetic. Hold the place over a barrell whilst we bow down to their knowledge? Thats basically what its trying to suggest that everyone should agree with what the user says or he'll take his football home & no one gets to play the game.
Here's hoping the moderation team apply some common sense.0 -

Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
I see this thread has come back to life in the last few days.
Can say I find PROLIANT's idiotic comments particularly offensive, but they are clearly abusive. Hopefully the moderators will take some action that doesn't involve locking or deleting the thread. I wouldn't like to see him banned either - I find the spectacle of him throwing his toys out of the pram in frustration far too amusing, if I'm honest. The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.0 -
Resorting to abuse shows that he clearly lost the argument, should have been banned IMO regardless of how many posts and thanks he accumulated.
Shame the abusive posts were removed, it would have been better to have left them for others to see.
