Many thanks Princess Coupon. :T :T

Obvious that previous poster is somewhat jealous that they couldn't be bothered to go looking for coupons. Perhaps they expect them to land in their laps.

Nothing comes to those that wait. ;)
my other half a tube train driver and when i see on here which papers have the best offers i text him for him to get those papers.. they just get picked up and chucked in the bin.. my way i actually recylce what i dont use so its better my way..
Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.

From the lyrics to the Wombles theme tune (Aah, this takes me back!)

Underground, Overground, Wombling Free, the Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we.
Making good use of the things that we find, things that the everyday folks leave behind.

Uncle Bulgaria, he can remember the days when he wasn't behind The Times,
With his map of the World. Pick up the papers and take them to Tobermory!

Wombles are organized, work as a team. Wombles are tidy and Wombles are clean.
Underground, Overground, wombling free, the Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we!

People don't notice us, they never see, under their noses a Womble may be.
We womble by night and we womble by day, looking for litter to trundle away.

We're so incredibly, utterly devious making the most of everything.
Even bottles and tins. Pick up the pieces and make them into something new, is what we do!

Now, if even the lyrics refer to taking the papers and giving them to Tobermoray (Younger readers, this refers to a Womble, not to the village on the Isle of Mull) I don't see what the issue is.

*wanders off whistling the Wombles theme*

Lovely, always wondered what the words were - sad, I know.

  • Also in Thursday's Sun was an offer for Paintballing for £5 a head.
    www.UKPaintball.co.uk/thesun
I had a look at the site, and you can buy an e-voucher for up to 10 people at £5 each, and it is valid for 12 months. Gets you 100 paintballs and refreshments. Not everyone's choice, but someone may like the offer. And no need to have the paper - I can feel my brain rotting getting the Sun every day for the holiday tokens

I've told and told my work colleagues about using MOC in Tesco etc, but will they listen ? If they chose to throw moc in bin, why should others not benefit ?

Cannot see that wombling is anything but good.
Even the law recognises that if someone throws something away, it is fair game for anyone else to make use of as they wish - hence 'journalist' ( not the right word, but don't know what else to call them :p) going through rubbish bins of celebrities great and small.

p.s My favourite was Orinoco ;)

My son is also a tube driver and I check this post everyday, if there is a paper with MOC in I text him to collect said paper after his run.
This is why I so appreciate this thread and the people that bother to let us know each and every day what we are looking for.
If he didn't pick them up they'd still go in the bin, how's that stealing exactly?
You'd be very surprised how many of each newspaper is actually left on just the one run, I am!

'when buying veg from teh supermarket and having to pay by weight - what i do is take a knife or scissors with me and cut of the stalks, leaves anything I will ot eat and leave it on the shelf before taking it too the till to be weighted.

This saves quite a lot of money in the long rn. For instance I cut off the stems from the broccoli and this where most of the weight is so that I only am charged for the florets. BIG MONEYSAVING!!' - posted by dervish on 1.01.09!! - sorry, can't do link

So chopping up veg in the supermarket isn't stealing, but picking up discarded newspapers is??? Wonder if the supermarkets would agree?

Surely the supermarkets factor in the leaves, stalks etc when pricing the veg?
