THIS IS NOT A JOKE OR A HOAX - HOPE YOU GET YOUR BONUS!
You may have seen this already, but if you have not, it appears that there is some unclaimed Child Tax Allowance available, but you must claim it before end of Jan 2009. You must ring your local Tax office and they will let you know if you are eligible for the credit.
If you are, you will then be asked to log on to hrmc.gov.uk, go to forms and print out form 11ctc – or click the link - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/11ctc.pdf
This sounds like a hoax but it is not I have spoken to the Tax office and it is genuine, they confirmed I had not received it, and now we are getting £520 – bonus! Remember – you only have until the end of Jan to claim - Best of Luck
Child Tax Allowance Claim 2002-03
If you have a child born between April 86 and April 03 please read below!
Basically, the year before tax credits were introduced there was a different non-means tested allowance available which was never advertised
by the Inland Revenue.
Children's Tax Allowance for the year 02/03
You can still claim until Jan 09.You need to phone HMRC and ask them to check if you received it or not (If you use an accountant to
do manual tax returns, maybe you have but most people didn't know about it so have never claimed!)
You are eligible to claim £520 if:
You have a child born between 6 April 86 and 5 April 03
the child lived with you for all or part of 02/03
you worked and paid tax for all or part of 02/03
you or your partner earned £6000 plus for 02/03
You are eligible for the £1040 allowance if
If you answered yes to all 4 questions above
and one of your children was born between 6 April 02 and 5 April 03

You also need to know, if it hasn't already been posted many times before on the numerous other threads on this topic, that this has absolutely nothing to do with the Tax Credit Office so don't call them. Contact HMRC or download this form - http://search2.hmrc.gov.uk/kbroker/hmrc/forms/viewform.jsp?formId=3282
This was an extra tax free allowance that should have been in the tax code of those people working in those years. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I am a new user to this site but have read many reply"s on the subject in question. I thought I would post to let you all know my progress so far on this matter. I sent my claim in on 21/01/09 just before the deadline, posted it recorded delivery as proof of posting. Received my cheque yesterday 18/02/09 so only took about a month to complete, bear in mind you will only get a cheque if you no longer work otherwise it will be incorperated into your Tax code. Most people on these forums seem to think they will get £529 or £1049 I also thought this was the case. I did not understand the paperwork that came with my cheque so phoned my Tax Office up for an explanation, they told me these figures are the Tax Allowance and if you qualify for tax relief on these amounts you will get relief at a rate of 10% of the above amounts so £529 turns into £52.90 Tax rebate and £1049 turns into £104.90 Tax rebate. This is how they worked my Tax relief out, I had my son during the Tax year 02/03 so qualified for the higher amount of the Tax Allowance of £1049 this gave me Tax relief at a rate of 10% giving me £104.90 they kindly gave me a round figure of £105 they then added a supplement of £14.57 giving me a total of £119.57 rebate the cheque was made out for this amount. it"s better off in my pocket than in the Goverment coffers. I"m not sure if this will apply to everyone but they did mention the more you earned in that Tax Year the less you will get in rebate as everyones circumstances are different, for example wether you qualify for the higher or lower amount of the Tax Allowance and how much you earned in that Tax Year. Anyway thats my story hope this has helped and good look to everyone who has claimed.0
