Outlook Express Crashed

Options
Hello. My OE has just crashed & has wiped all my stored emails. (No I haven't backed up).

Any advice on whether I can retrieve them from a hidden folder or something please?

Thanks
Mike

Happened to me too - tried all sorts, never got them back :(.

    I now use full Outlook.

Does Outlook allow you to backup messages?
Thanks for info even if it isn't what I want to hear.

do a search for *.dbx and see what it brings up. It's 'possible' it's reset the store folder to a different location

I back up the lazy way ;) , I have a Hotmail address that I forward any mails to that are important. If you pay the £14.99 a year subscription to Hotmail you get a 2000MB mailbox - it should hold everything that you ever wanted: I also use the hotamil addy if I sign up to anything on the web, saves all the carp arriving in my real mailbox.

TBH, I started to pay for Hotmail so that I could import it into Outlook, not sure whether I could do that with Gmail? Best of both worlds - online and inbox; also means that I can drag and drop main mail into Hotmail. :j

    Thanks everyone for your help.
Using tips here I have been able to find what I needed to recover.

I will back up regularly from now on (if I remember!).

    Thanks again.
