I'm gaining weight atm heres a Shake i use.

    250ml full fat milk
125ml Natural Yogurt (cheap stuff is fine, i use massive tubs of full fat greek yogurt i buy in Lidl)
3 tsp of golden Lindseed (buy the crushed type)
3 tsp ground nuts almonds/hazelnut work well.
    1 banana
150g Frozen fruit (asda do a smoothie mix) or i often buy whoopie fruit i often get stuff like strawberries for 10p

I also add Protien powder because im trying to gain muscle atm but you can omit that if you don't need it.

Shake made from Value skimmed milk, banana, Value cottage cheese and dollop of smooth smooth peanut butter will pack in the calories and be protein rich, nutritious and cheap. (Couldn't drink it myself though!)
  • Thanks so much for all the suggestions, they sound great. Going to buy a few ingredients I need to make some of them and try them out on him.

Does anyone know where I can buy one of the shaker cup things with a lid? I want him to be making his own shakes once we find one he likes and I can't see him messing with the blender  Lazy teen he will only make if they are easy and doubt he will both to 'tackle' the blender

Thanks again keep the suggestions coming.

Think you get more palatable results with the blender.
My OH makes his own shakes in blender every day, we keep it out on worktop all the time, only rule is he has to wash it straight away! You know how men like gadgets!

I buy mine in bulk from Ebay haha, me and my hubby are both body builders of sorts so we use an insane amount of the stuff, you can get it in Holland and Barret but shop around the other health food stores to price it up some are cheaper than others.

MT-Rex is a nice brand, and stear clear of maxi muscle it's not nice and over priced for the quality of protien.

tbh though £30 seems expensive but it works out to be less than 50p per serve and when you compare that again to most other sources of protien it's a cheap convient option.

    Heya KM,

I have one of those shaker things, they sell them in Tesco near the exercise stuff. My Tesco is a big store and also sells Protein powder so they are next to those. It is a Maximuscle one and has this little gauze thin which sits on the top of the beaker and the lid goes over that, so when you mix up a protein shake, it mixes everything up. Just make sure if you get one, that the lid is on properly as I did it once and the drink went all over me!!! :o It cost about £4 and you can also get them on ebay...

    Mine is this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MAXIMUSCLE-PROTEIN-SHAKER-MIXER-BOTTLE_W0QQitemZ380093765697QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Health_Beauty_Vitamins_Supplements?hash=item380093765697&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1298%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Ooooh think they sell them in Argos too, if you search Argos for Maximuscle, sure you will find them???
