Debenhams Disaster

Placed an order with Debenhams on 31st December and got an email today saying the whole order has been cancelled. Called CS and after speaking to four different people I was told the items are all out of stock and they are experiencing difficulties with the online ordering. At least 2 of the items I had ordered are still showing as available on the website in the size and colours I wanted.
Anyone else having problems?

Hi, iv had this problem with debenhams many times even had email to say order has been despatched then get a letter threw post to apoligise coz item not in stock, i find it a bit of a hit or miss and def not the best shopping website(but i still keep going back LoL)0

order 3 items before christmas, two arrived and the 3rd didnt, emailed them to be told they would check whats happened and get back to me but not to worry wouldnt be charged until they were dispatched. Famous last words, they then sent a email cancelling and took the cash. Took 4 phone calls before they gave me it back and none of the customer service people were any help.0

I know exactly how you feel, I ordered on two seperate occasions last week and yesterday I got two emails saying everything was cancelled.
Oh well, back to the drawing board for my nieces birhday present and rug for the lounge.
More online shopping, a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do!0 -
Yes I have the same problem. Ordered last night, said the items were in stock, got an email this morning to say order cancelled. I rung them to ask why and they said they all out of stock everywhere. They are still showing on the website, but she said thats because stock levels havent been updated since christmas! seems a bit wierd that they cancel my order, but dont cancel the item off the website....
ive tried re-ordering - no doubt will get yet another cancellation message.GRRR0 -
I have been lucky with everything i have ordered up to Xmas, but I did have a cancellation yesterday on a bath robe i had ordered in the sale. I went straight on to the site & re-ordered it (for less than I originally paid thanks to the blue cross sale & a 15% code), so I gotta hope that it's a 2nd time lucky situation.
I find that some items sell out on their site & then come back into stock if people have bought & returned them
TIP - I tend to keep a list of web links that I can paste into the browser that take me directly to that item, which is handy because sometimes doing a manual search for an item doesn't yield the desired result.
Today I have managed to order a pair of jeans that yesterday had sold out & were no longer appearing on the site. I also managed to pick-up a lovely Principles pencil skirt for my better half, which was also an item that had long since sold out on their site - pasting the link into the browser window showed the item & showed that it was in stock in 2 sizes. Did the same with a suit for her too.
I just gotta hope that they all don't get cancelled, but I'm keeping my hopes up.

just a watchout Debenhams have been a bit sneaky in the past and cancelled items if discount codes have been used, they say some of theirs are for their credit card users only.0

i can't even order with debenhams at the moment. i ordered fine before xmas. went to use my debenhams card to pay a few days ago and it said the card couldn't be authorised.
i tried again today and got the same message. i also tried a maestro debit, visa credit card, visa debit card, and a mastercard credit card and none of them could be authorised to take payment!
i phoned debenhams and they had no idea what was wrong, i asked if i could speak to their technical team but they told me to email them. the items have since gone out of stock.0
