You do realise that these scores are only made up by Experian and Equifax?
i.e. lenders don't use them.
They might be useful as a rough guideline but otherwise they are useless.
I oubt whether you will get anyone to tell you the rules for scoring.
They will be kept secret becuase otherwise people (like you :-) will try to manipulate things.0 -
how dare you you dont even know me i find that end highlighted bit out of order to say the lease thanks for your non constructive replyYou do realise that these scores are only made up by Experian and Equifax?

Good grief.
Sorry you missed the smiley but I was joking.
For clarity when I said "manipulate" I did NOT mean change identity or defrauding the system.
I meant that if people knew how the scores were constructed then they would alter their behaviour e.g. delay getting cards, to get a better rating.
This may or may not be what you want to do, but it IS why you won't get an answer to your question because they are a trade secret.0 -
i know there is no set in stone answer and if there are they wont be leeked to the like of me and you but surely there must be a avarage number that would be floating about on this forumGood grief.

i did not see the smiley
but manipulate is a strong word! you cant change yesterdaybut you can make tomorrow better0 -
Perhaps "improve" is a better word as I would imagine that is what most people would want to do.
There is a guide here
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/credit-rating-credit-score
which I expect contain lots of good advie, but I doubt you will find any exact formulas.
It starts withCredit ratings are a myth, they don't exist in the UK. Each lender scores you based on its ‘perfect customer’ wish list.0 -

Jeez Darcy, chill out
I'm sure I heard somewhere (prob off Mr. P lol) that each search was worth around 10 "points"0 -

Darcy boy, down!
Yes, about 30 points per search hence my score is -26.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
don't see why darcy should chill out, if someone said " people like you" to me in a post i'd scream blue murder smiley or no smiley. what the person should of said is [there would be people who would manipulate the system }0
