Capital One Finance - Not so Green

As an ex-Icesaver I am in the throes of trying to open several new savings accounts to spread the risk. I have encountered some very weird and wonderful variations on how to run a savings account on-line, including Tesco, but that's another story.
The latest is Capital One Savings. This looks a good rate, I can make unlimited deposits and withdrawals, and can view my account and service it on-line.
I put in an initial £10 to kick off the account and was bemused to get a letter back telling me that I had deposited £10. I thought that maybe this was because it was the first deposit, but no, each and every transaction since then, another letter arrives!
I've e-mailed them to ask why and the reply is that this gives the account added security! If there are any dastardly crooks out there who want to put a few thousand in my account, I'll turn a blind eye, honestly, even if Capital One have written to tell me.
This is the same company that I have opted for electronic statements only with their credit card, presumably so that I can 'save the planet'. E-mailing me with the info is obviously not an available option. Are there any awards out there for non-Green initiatives?
Is there anybody else out there in the finance world doing the same as this?
What is worse is that each letter comes from Newcastle, which is where I'm expecting my Icesave cheques to come from.
