Does any one know when and why marks and spencer have stopped you being able to order instore? my local had a big sign up today advising customers to order online. i looked at the website but they are still charging for delivery and no option to pick goods up at store free. shame.

Maybe somebody's not entirely sure what's about to happen. Today they've announced they're closing two regular shops and 25 small food outlets.0

I seem to remember someone raising this a couple of days ago and there was a response that it's just to allow the store to do it's stocktaking - once this was done "normal service would be resumed"!0

The stocktake for M & S stores is next month.
Ordering resumes tomorrow-however M & S is starting a trial with stores in certain areas ( think it is North East) where customers cannot order instore and have to order through internet.0 -
The website does not have the full selection of items although I'd be ok ordering if they'd allow me to pick items up from my local store for free.0

My Aunt works on the ordering desk at our local m&s as a supervisor
She said they will reopen the ordering desk next monday & its due to all the refunds & exchanges over xmas which has meant all the ordering desk staff have been put on the refund counter since xmas sales to deal with the volume of refunds!0 -

I have used the online ordering service frequently, but their new policy of charging for delivery will ensure that I no longer do this. Another nail in their coffin.0
