But were you trying to configure a multi-region version of the HXD890 or were you trying to hack a region-specific HXD890 into multi-regionality?
Would appreciate it if you could clarify.

Turns out mine is an 870 which I think is pretty much the same as the 890, and is a Region 2 model.
