    Help with baskets for charity

Completely clearing my stash of bits I will not use and are too pampering for the local womens refuge(the only want basics!) as my local disability challengers(helps disabled children in locl area) are having a spring fayre soon and i'm going to do some baskets for their raffle etc

I've not really got anything to swap, but if any of you have any of the following it would save me buying more for the baskets as I've spent alot already towards them and want to make the baskets briming over so they get lots of tickets sold! I've basically got the big toiletries it is just the finishing touches i'm missing for them!

JK Nail Files (for pamper baskets)
    Soothers (for baby baskets)
Baby flannels or Ramer sponges (for baby baskets)
    Shower lilly/puffs (for bathing baskets)

Feel bad asking, but thought I would as know your a generous lot and some of you have 3 million jk files!

    Thanks :)

I have a couple of jk files which I will happily pass on. Just pm me your address and I'll send them to you.

After went to London Colney last weekend there was very little there - so I would say there is prob very little left now

    Thank you.
Not worth a visit tomorrow then. I wasn't too impressed with their 50% sale either.

Just to let people know that my sale items arrived today. My orders were placed at 3.29 and 3.42 (ish...off the top of my head as .com playing up again now). The first order never went through as far as I was aware but still showed on .com as pending and then dispatched despite no confirmation e-mail but an e-mail to tell me about despatch. Second order I had a confirmation notice for and then a despatch notice. MAny similar items in the two orders as when I went on for the second time my basket had been emptied (well that's what I thought but obviously this was because the order had been processed) and I started again but adding a few different bits and different quantities. Mostly toys. Total comes to about £100 with the 2 orders. Am not going to send anything back now as think I'm lucky to have recieved anything and am sure that all the stuff will come in useful for the 17 children we buy presents for throughout the year and at Christmas.

Just a quick question: I ordered 2 of the chocolate slab packs (6 bars with lots of lovely fruit and nuts in that I can't touch as have started my post pregnancy diet - and lost 6 pounds in the first week - but couldn't resist for gifts etc). Anyway, when they turned up, they had been placed on their side in the package rather than lain flat and as a result both packs were open and the chocolate had fallen out into the box. The bars are not individually wrapped and therefore all of the chocolate was touching other things in the box which I don't think is very hygienic and makes them a bit null and void as gifts....what should I do?...please don't tell me to eat them as I'm already fighting with the little devil on my shoulder telling me that that is the best course of action for them ha ha! What will CS do if I call them?

    TIA Nuninge

You phone CS and tell them exactly what you told us, that the bars had virtually disintegrated, and you spent ages cleaning the things they'd touched, and that the people they were intended for as gifts, were now giftless.

So you will have to buy more. Then you say ............."What level of compensation please do you think would be fair?"

    HTH
  • A bit of advice please - when the sale was at 50% i ordered an item, i was then able to purchase itinstore and tried to cancel my order. I did this and was refunded for the item. a few days later my item arrived, i signed for it as i wasn't sure what it was a the time.

I am sure that some of you will say that it would be really dishonest of me to keep the following items but i am tempted to keep them and give it as a gift. the value is only very small. what would you do?

From a non-judgemental/ non-moralisic (is this a word?:o) think to yourself is it worth it? You have signed for it and if this is traced at a later date, would losing your advantage card and possibly more be ok with you? You could just wait and see, they may ring/write and tell you to keep it if its not worth the cost of collection to them, that way its up to fate ;). My answer to the orignal question what would you do? I think i would ring them, maybe emphasise that its not worth much etc and try to blag them into letting me keep it :D. Worth trying.
    Good luck.;)
You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. (A.C)

Thanks for putting that needsabreak - saved me typing more or less the same! To me, the worst thing would be having my card "confiscated"!!! Also, the fact you've asked us, means that you're a teensy weensy bit worried you'd be caught - so is it worth it?

Phone CS, say it would be probably more costly for the return postage, and what do they think would be best. HTH And hope they say - keep it!
