Hi, can anyone clarify this one for me.
I am considering buying a few items from no 7 whilst the 3 4 2 is on but i have a few blinkies as well and i'm trying to establish whether i'm better off not doing the 3 4 2 and buying each item separately using a blinkie or whether i am better of doing the 3 4 2 and using 1 blinkie?
when the 3 4 2 goes through - does it deduct the cheapest item? i always thought that this was the case where 3 4 2 is concerned but when i made some purchases at christmas from boots (gift sets etc) i was trying to organise them together so that similar priced items went through together but the SA said it didn't matter as the till works out the best combination for you anyway but i wonder whether anyone does actually know?
thanks

this really does depend on the price
if it is a higher price item you will be better off to do the 342
ie £18 + £18 + £18 -£18 -£5 = £31
£18 - £5 = £13 x 3 = £39
if it is a £10 item the sum works out the same £15 for the 3 items
if it is £7 it would work out cheaper to do it separatly
£7 + £7 + £7 - £7 -£7 -£5 = £9
£7 - £5 = £2 x 3 = £6
BUT if it was £2.50 go for the 342
you really have to work it out on how much the items are and do your sums....but don't forget to ask yourself ....'do i need all 3 items?'
i hope i haven't confussed you all too much:o
Hope this is if some help to you.0 -

1. buying them all seperately and using a blinkie for each - would almost definitely cost you less ££££££
or
2. buy them on 3 for 2 using 1 blinkie - you would earn another blinkie back and more points + possible total spend points from the ACM.
EDIT - sorry, I was assuming you were only buying 3 items. As Couttsey says below the till does work out the 3 for 2's in your favour
thanks for your help
i might sound daft here but not very experienced at bootsing - how come i would potentially get more points if i did 3 4 2 rather than buying items individually and using a blinkie each time?x0 -
I was told by a SA in my local store that the staff got to choose what they wanted the day before the sale started. Maybe that explains why everything had disappeared in your local store:rolleyes:
I got a few good things from a range of three stores but noticed no S&G, or Sanctuary. When I asked the SA this morning (my second trip to a large-ish store) if she had managed to grab any bargains, she told me that the staff had been allowed to go round the store an hour before it opened! (and probably snaffled all the S&G and Sanctuary- although I can hardly blame them.) Methinks I'd better get a job in Boots .....:rolleyes:0 -
Was passing LEEDS city centre store today so popped in on the off chance. As Mimi said earlier, lots of reduced No.7 items.... (skincare, suncare, tanning, eyeshadow, nail polish) priced from £1. Two stands near tills at Shopping Mall end & odd bits scattered around the No.7 counter.
Wandered over to Sale area just as they brought out afew totes of stock.
Think it was returns/damaged packaging as some items had no price stickers on & were taped up. Hardly any of it made it onto the shelves...the locusts appeared from nowhere.
Met a nice Halifax Bootser & her oh so patient son & did a blinkie swap.
No Pantane sachets.
I would like to thank everyone that contributes to this thread & the Grabbit board in general for the HUGE difference Bootsing & MSEing has made to my life. I've just managed to buy a much needed FridgeFreezer & Microwave with the money i've saved since discovering this site before Xmas:beer:
Did you go first thing this morning? Did you see me and my pouty lips?
Can't believe everyone cleaned everything out yesterday at LEEDS. Adorable electricals SA bounced over when she saw me, and told me everyone went mad yesterday and that she was sorry there wasn't much today. Cute perfume SA bounded over for a little natter too, she was the one that explained the buy 2 perfume gift sets and get a freebie offer to me.
If anyone is after the REDUCED NO7 STUFF, there was a shelf near the NO 7 COUNTER, 2 shelves near the OTHER ENTRANCE (as pointed out by TIRKIZ), and there was also a shelf upstairs just after you got off the escalator. You might as well use BLUES on them.0 -
If you refuse delivery then your be fine, if not you will need to drag back to store for a refund, so maybe after you get 1st order let neighbours know not to accept if your out etc!
If you wait for them all to arrive, then ring CS and they will arrange for them to be collected from your home, a lot easier than taking back to store or asking neighbours to refuse delivery.

I was also told by my fav SA that the staff had first dibs on the sale stuff, which is fair enough in my opinion. They also said that staff got 83% off during the 75% off sale. Blimey!0

I've had an Advantage Card since I started at uni a few years ago, and I've never received any mailings with the vouchers etc. To be honest, I didn't even realise until I was at my fiance's parents' over Christmas and his mum received hers.
Anyway, my point is, does anyone know who I need to speak to about getting mailings in the future? I'm guessing there's no chance of me getting the current one, unfortunately.[/quote
If you start using your card regularly and make sure your details are up to date (you can check on .com) I think you will get the mailings. My OH and I both have cards but his doesn't get used much and he doesn't get the mailings I get.0
