What good is the boots website if you can buy online!!! Do you think there will be anything left at the weekend as I cant go and look till then, and I really want to get my dad a birthday present? Anyone know what Telford or Merry Hill are like? xxIllegitimi non carborundum.0

Incidentally I'm convinced that part of the problem was the multiple reservation in basket thingie. Everyone (but me) seemed to be after S&G and P&P sets and were doing things like put 99 into their basket to keep an eye on stock. The stock update mechanism seems to be the Achilles heel of .com and it's very possible that if you refreshed a basket with 99 S&G sets in it then .com would not just update that to say 60 in stock, it would look around at all the other baskets with 99 S&G sets too and just have a hysterical fit. And then all the other baskets would freeze too. And with everyone trying frantically to get through check out and the stock going out of baskets during this bottleneck was causing more errors. Etc.Just a thought and maybe not a correct one but it does seem from reading through here that the folk that got their orders through without trouble in the first few hours when .com was still up were the folk (like me) who had a small number of less popular items in their basket, in multiples of ones and twos. So there was no restocking conflict and it went through checkout smoothly. Of course .com should be set up for the kind of traffic that should have been expected yesterday! But....:rolleyes:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

in todays Sun newspaper there is a Coupon for £1 off hair colour at boots valid only for boots multi tone cinnamon swirl only
thanks to Nudge on the newspaper thread for info:D0 -
I managed to get through checkout without too many problems, I did have to log out and back in and it did have a few errors and took abuot 45 mins to actually go though but I managed to get a dozen items that I wanted (lost about 6 other things I wanted as well) but just had 1 of each and it was mainly toys and the less sought after gift sets.
I hope the stuff arrives as it means Ive saved a bit of money on the kids birthdays this year and have a couple of bits laid past for mothers day, if not then hey ho Ill just have do what I would have done if there was no such thing as the BOOTS 75% off sale! :rotfl:0 -
I managed a huge shop yesterday morning (in store), spent £135, saved almost £400! I got all my little ones birthday presents sorted and most of the family christmas too. My only problem was I didn't print any extra points vouchers off from the machines that are only down stairs before I went up to the gifts section and then had so much stuff I couldn't have taken it down stairs to pay so I have missed out on an extra 1200 points, also I would have liked to have split it up to get the no7 vouchers but it was manic in there and I think the sa and the other customers would have been a bit annoyed with me. Its a shame really but I got some really good bargains so I musn't compain! I will have to try and not think about the missed points and no7 things, you can't have everything!0

Hi, hope all ok, had great fun yesterday at shirley marshall lake, with baby and toddler in tow:D. Must say they were golden and ds2 entertained everyone by carrying around some dog speakers all around the store telling everyone "i want dod"! managed to bribe him with some jelly lolies and get them of him! Anyhow sorry about the chat, just wanted to say thankyou for all the tips etc on this very friendly thread, you have all helped to make me a much savier shopper and have saved me loads, big thanks to all:T. Dont know who said it but someone said " its easy to get cheap things but the trick is to get expensive things cheap" So throughout the year my friends and family will be recieving fab quality products that did not cost me the earth making everone very happy yeah!!!:beer:You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

Just been to the LEEDS store and surprise surprise, someone (or a lot of someone's) cleared out all the lovely gift sets. Just the nasty YARDSLEY stuff and what not left around.
All the NO 7 SUNCARE items are on super clearance, i.e. something like £1.50 to £3.00. I thought I would be uber cheeky and try and get 3 on the 3 4 2 offer with a BLUE. Tried it with this male sa (huge smile on my face), and hurrah it went through! Tried again with dragon lady sa and she said no. I was like fine, keep it love, like this face actually cares, *pout* and stomped off.
Just so people know it does go through, but some sa's are just evil.
Have fun shopping peeps.0 -
