Which? Best Kettles

  • My recommendation is KRUPS, their kettles are excellent and reasonably priced.

Don't go for a magimix, I was seduced by the looks and ended up taking 4 back to John Lewis for various faults!!
  • Asda have their own brand kettle reduced to £3 at the moment.

    I have the toaster too.
  • I subscribe to which? magazine and 2 years ago needed a kettle very quickly.Didnt have time to mess about searching for the 'best buy' so went to local Asda and bought Onn make cheapo white kettle (£6.99 or thereabouts) just to use temporarily...............2 years later still working very well, boils quickly ans has a transparent marker so you can view amount of water in it.

The only possible drawback is that if you pour too quickly water can run down the kettle from the spout. No problem really its just a matter of pouring the water gently. Overall very pleased.

I considered the Magimix kettle even though I think its a lot to pay for something just to boil water! However when I went to the shop to purchase it I was put off by the weight (and that was before it had water in it). Went instead for a Kenwood.

I am amazed to see my Kenwood kettle in that Top Ten list. I don't like it at all! It is so slow to boil, fiddly to open and close and doesn't clean up well at all.

I suppose everybody has a different opinion on what makes for a good kettle, but I wouldn't personally buy it again - I only got it in the first place because it was the cheapest cordless one I found when my old one gave up.

But TBH maufacturers launch new kettles so frequently, not even the likes of Which could keep up, I doubt. So I would say buy one that had good user reviews - oh, and from somewhere that is good at handling returns, just in case!

I spent almost a whole day looking for a kettle last week. Who knew it was so difficult to find a kettle which doesn't throw boiling water everywhere, doesn't make the water taste funny and didn't fall apart after a year.

In the end I bought this one and I'm really pleased with it. It looks nice, it filters the water so no scum on black tea or coffee, it pours really well too.

Who knew buying a kettle would be so complicated lol
So Toto do you have to keep buying replacement filters?
In Jan 2007 I had a debt of £27,896.00
In October 2011 I paid it off and owned £0.00 - Kinda proud of this!:T

yes the filters do need replacing, they are brita ones but then if you use a filter jug it's the same thing. They last 6 weeks but I bought a pack of 9 from amazon for about £20.
