Its true Hodgehappy but I wanted the industry's top list.
Damoderby kindly got it from Which for me and then I went on Amazon and read real peoples reviews to see which one was the best.
Its surprising but half of those kettles which we are told are the top ten, the general public were not impressed. Especially in the all singing all dancing ones.
Now I'm really confused…I just wanted to replace my kettle lolIn Jan 2007 I had a debt of £27,896.00 :eek:In October 2011 I paid it off and owned £0.00 - Kinda proud of this!:T0 -
I`ve got a Bosch , Private Collection range from JL, think it was just under £30 , its a good kettle plus 3yrs guarantee.0

Use Which reports as a guide, not as a bible.
They usually have strange points systems that reward features and uses that do no matter to a lot of people's requirements.
Plus their samples tend to be limited in number from what actually is available, slightly snobbish and upmarket, and a little out of date.( IMHO that is).
PS you can get a value (white ) cordless kettle from Tesco for £4.99.
Plus most kettles have the same working parts irrespective of brand, just the case material and shape and name are different. The base and element and switch are made at one factory and used by the end product manufacturer. Honest.ac's lovechild0 -
Going to look it up as soon as I finish typing.nuttywoman wrote: »I`ve got a Bosch , Private Collection range from JL, think it was just under £30 , its a good kettle plus 3yrs guarantee.
Thanks DC – you know what, my kettle was a Tesco or Asda one and I have had it since 2004 and now the lid now doesn’t work properly and I have to fight to get it off the base so before I break it even further I need to replace it.Use Which reports as a guide, not as a bible.

I did a bit of research and was thinking that I shouldnt just go for cheap I should get something quality that would last. However, when reading all the reviews of the Which Top Ten Kettles and hearing how some of these £60 kettles they stopped working after a year and I was wondering if I should just go back to the £4.99 version of a kettle (afterall I only want hot water).
I think Which are trying to seduce me with their illumination, rapid boil, multi temperature self filtering, cool wall, quick boil all singing all dancing kettles!
The only question I really thinking now is does a £60 kettle make a better cuppa than a £4.99 one? Anyone?

I bought my current kettle from LIDL and its the best I've ever had. It cost £9.99 is a fast boil and is far better than the other branded ones I've had in the past. The make is biffinet.0

I've exactly the same kettle Mummy Jo, and it's great. Only started using it a couple of days ago, as my old kettle died, but can recommend for quickness, and I quite like the temp feature. Unfortunately, don't think Lidl are selling these at the moment.0
