Hi Harvsl, your ma an da are class! Ur dad was playing Bob Dylan off his phone coz we had no music so I joined in with 'combined harvester' (ooh aargh) off mine lol! I heard him on da phone telling you had sold tights - we were all in fits! V hard to guage which fairs to do - the large ones, particularly National Trust ones, are so flippin dear it's more of a gamble to book in - especially with the amount of jewellery stalls about at the mo! Glad to hear St G's goin well for you x

Lol hilarious! Well you have to make the best of it when it is so crap! I agree with nat trust ones - ive only been to one - in enniskillen and it was terrible- we sold nothing and paid for petrol both ways - never again! also i got a call for the one at rowallane gardens and they were looking 75 and you had to do the two days. i just didnt think it was worth it. i may be completely wrong though and it ends up brilliant. You just have to try as many as you can i think and rule out the ones that def dont work. I do feel bad for you jewellery girls the fair organisers should try to be abit fairer - at the very least they shouldnt put you beside each other - i've seen that so many times!

.. should take a leaf from Belmont tower organisers, get your list of interested people first then put 2 of each craft in to each fair - everyone's happy! I'd rather only get in every other or every 3rd month than go each week to a hall full of jewellery!

today wasnt that good im really shocked with xmas as my fairs throughout the year have been better than the xmas period!!!!

going to talk ryan into holding maybe a fair in march
  • Rathfriland was pretty dire........There were a LOT of underlying issues that a lot of the stall holders were not aware of....The front page of the banbridge leader????!!!!!! apparently asking people to boycott the event!!

I covered my table and fuel, and know that some other people didnt do that!!

Whilst there were things that I didnt know about......another stall holder said "people come along into a new job and try to change things......If it aint broke dont fix it!!"
I also think that as im not a local......I didnt know about it, and if The council had have been honest about the whole situation.....I would not have been there!!

sinead will you send me that list of places after xmas and im sorting u a list of supplies at the min lol

ohoh and i had a lovely suprise when i got home, my machine is here!!!! no room to take it out at the min as my house is a complete TIP at the min so need get cleaning and get bits ordered to practice woohoo

:Tthats great news about the machine!!

My house is a tip too so dont worry about it:)

I am compiling a list and im going to start ringing around the likes of DRP (cause it was amazing at the racecourse) and some churches/charities/Hospitals....and the likes of girl guides, scouts and the big schools....:D Harleygirl has stated that she would like to run a fair.....she a seen a few and knows what crafters are like:p as a fellow crafter she can see it from both sides (some of you know her and she is lovely).....she was thinking an easter fair in carrick, £15 per table, facepainting, free admission, Tea and Coffee;) Bouncy castle, lots of entertainment planned for kids and has also said that she may hold a tombola and would it be awful if stallholders were asked to maybe donate a prize to it, I dont mind as I know Harleygirl and its for a great cause.....her hubby sells stuff for a baby charity.....But if I know harley girl it will be well advertised, and as a mum of 5:eek: she has an idea of what families are like and how to get the advertisments sorted out for this one!!

She will be on soon enough and im sure if you have any questions for her she will answer them.....and she will post about it and the arrangments for it after christmas!!

Hi, just checked again and you can actually download the application form on line. Go to www.belmontcraftfair.co.uk and there is a link for the form - actually says crafters wanted so they must be keen to expand their list! IMHO one of the best fair around, highly recommend getting on their list! Hi Harley Girl, you wanted this info too hope you get in!

Yes that was me. As for St Georges we paid and left at that. However, we have pulled the plug on Saturdays @ St Georges just wasnt working for us. Its over too early as our selling time is usually afternoons.

Got call from Rowallane on Thursday they had availability for us for yesterday. I have my name down for over 2 years trying to get in. Brian went and had a fairly good day and he is now going back today as theres a vacancy. Our problem is we need electricity. We find National Trust events work for us if they are family based.

I was in Irvinestown yesterday wasn't bad and I'm in Bellagy today. Thats us then until Friday when we are in Quays Shopping Centre, Newry right through to Xmas Eve. Its going well for us.
