belle - I always take far too much, but better that than not enough. I dont take ordes, as a rule, because I dont make what I sell, but leading up to Christmas we did take requests for stock we had sold out of, and that worked ok. I would say having 2 or 3 of each thing makes sense or 2 or 3 of each type, perhaps with different colours/scents etc. Others would have a better idea, so hang around for more answers, but a nice full stall looks more appealing than one that has lots of bare spaces. People like to lift things up and touch (and smell?) things, and rummage a bit I've found, which can drive you mad as you spend all day rearranging, but if a sniff or a touch leads to a sale, then that's the best bit!!

lol nive to out a face to a name, im also considering st.georges market have recieved the forms but im not wanting to do it every friday if i remember right you can fill in forms and if some1 doesnt turn up you can get the stall but its a firts come 1st served basis ill hoak out the email and send you the info

Belle, would be interested to hear more about this. We cant do Fridays but are thinking of the Saturday one, although they have stricter rules there on what you sell, i.e. if its not local you are further down the list of waiters, and you have to prove handmade (not a problem for us). THis means we could turn up with a boot load of stuff and not get a stall? not sure if others here have tried?

LOL! The one time I took a "selection" of items to a fair, every other customer wanted something ina colour choice I didnt have, or a size I didnt have! The next one I took the kitchen sink along with every last item we had, and we took £19 - YES NINETEEN POUNDS in a 4 hour stint - it was SO demoralising! But I now take as much as possible to avoid losing a sale, despite the inconvenience!

We sell fair trade goodies, really cute and trendy bright coloured stuff AND WE HAVE A FABBY NEW RANGE BEING PREMIERED AT THE 6th JUNE FAIR AND IT'S SO EXCITING...oops, got carried away with myself there! Seriously though, whenever I think of fair trade I think of hippy type stuff that isnt always my cup of tea, but we've sourced the most amazing goodies (purses, bags, ipod cases, home decorations, pencil toppers etc) made by a collective of women in Nepal and its suitable for children and adults alike. We also do childrens and adults hair accessories as a separate thing, and might well be doing both at the next fair. There - that was a good free plug wasnt it - LOL!!!

  • I got an e -mail which I have now deleted about 3 craft fairs in Ballance House in Lisburn. I think one in July, October and December. You could try and ring or check if they have a web site.

Sorry can't be of any more help.
