Application turned down??

I applied online for a Barclaycard last week and have been refused, was told this when I phoned to chase up my application, this has never happened before and was wondering what could of caused it? Got a good record, never late paying anything back, earn £38k a year and £18k in savings (offset mtg account), excellent record with my bank since I was 16 years old (16 years ago) and only got £4,000 balance on another card Im never late paying back

Only thing is I may of got the date I moved wrong, been between houses for about a year while renovating, could this of been enough to say no to me?

Many thanks in advance

Are you on the electoral roll at your current address? Lenders score us differently, but everyone's credit rating improves no end once registered.

You will have disrupted your credit rating temporarily of course by moving house.

For tips to improve your chances of credit card acceptance, have a look at the *Credit Rating: how it works and how to improve it guide*, especially Martin's *Manage and Improve your credit score* article ;)

Yes, am on electoral roll at current address, wasnt sure wether to contact Barclaycard and ask why, and explain the mix up of dates moving or apply to another card with 0% interest? Last time I applied 12 months ago was given a £15k credit limit even tho only had £9k balance to move across, and never had any adverse credit, just cant work out why I was turned down?

They should send you a rejection letter in the post explaining reason and appeal options. I would be interested in their wording if you would like to PM me with the text, without any personal identifiers.
    Thanks
