£20 from those lovely people at Barclaycard

in Credit cards
I went with a Barclays Pulse card for the free £25. In order to reduce my total credit availability, I've just phoned to cancel the card, telling them that I hadn't really used it very much. I was put through to the loyalty people as I am a 'valued customer'.
After a lovely long chat (about chocolate amongst other things), I was offered various BT's and 1% cashback for 3 months, and so on. After very pleasantly declining these with various reasons, they finally offered me £20 for the pleasure of remaining with them for a couple more months.
So that was very nice.
(I'll have to leave the problem of having too much available credit to another day, however).
In case you actually believe that I really am a valued customer, I received the £25 cashback for taking out the card, spent it, and then spent £2.99 on 23rd Dec 07 which I promptly paid back, and that's it.
It was all very gently and pleasantly handled by both of us.
