Domestic Oil Spill: Heeeellllllppppp

My neighbours oil tank leaked into my house. My insurance company recommended I move out while the work is being carried out. After 14 months of Legal and General dragging their heels I am still in temporary accommodation. The contractors they have here in Northern Ireland are of a poor standard and communication was been incredibly bad. I have been unable to contact the contractors since June 08

A company that Legal and General have working for them has now got involved and is believing whatever nonsense the contractor is telling them and blaming me for the delays, threatening to stop paying for my alternative accommodation.

Has anyone out there had a similar experience with Insurance company appointed contractors or indeed domestic oil leaks?

Please help

I have dealt with two escape of oil claims, and both of them complete nightmares. One involved demolishing and rebuilding the entire property (as oil had saturated the foundations) and the other took about a year whilst it was pumped out.

I would ask to make a formal complaint, as it will usually get a fresh set of eyes looking at it. Did they say why you are causing the delays?
