Help on favourites

>:( I am running Windows XP with IE as browser (+Service Pack 2). Following recent crash / recovery I am having problems with favorites / hijacking.
I think I must have gone onto the internet before re-installing firewalls etc . What I find happens is that shortly after going onto the internet about five sites appear in my favorites list. I can get rid off them but they will re-appear after re-boot. Occasionally the browser will also jump to a website I haven't asked for. I am running Zone Allarm together with Giant and Norton. Have also run Spybot SD, Adaware, Cool Web Shredder, Spysweeper and Stopzilla. Even dabbled in Regedit but haven't sorted it yet! However Norton does sometimes come up with Bloodhoud found ' sfcver.exe'. Is this a legit file (eg system file checker)? Also a file called doubleclick comes up from time to time which a get awarming about.
I have got around the problem by using Firefox as browser but would still like to sort out. :-[
