    The £400 per quarter is just a rough guide that the underwriters use. It's not a rule, and doesn't form part of the T&Cs. They may reduce the overdraft for any number of reasons, it's very difficult if not impossible for us to know why they do this.

    If you look on the current account board, you will see that many people are complaining of having their overdrafts removed/reduced from various banks, despite the fact that they are paying one or two full time wages in. And these are not interest free overdrafts! So it's little surprise really that they want to cut back on student overdrafts as well.

    I finally managed to speak to a supervisor on the phone and get a £1000 overdraft re-instated based on my personal circumstances.
    I can't help wondering if this is due to my father having an account with them which is on a payment plan.
    No longer using this account for new posts from 2013
