Credit Expert Free Trial - CHEATERS!

Options
Wonder if anyone else has faced the same prob as me with their free trial - they DO NOT CANCEL the free trial if you notify them by email. And when you call to cancel, nobody picks up the phone!

I was aghast that they had not cancelled my trial even after NOTIFYING THEM THREE MONTHS BACK! Charged me roughly £21.

Bad luck there. I rang to cancel and got through straight away. I like how they sneakily keep your account open though and if I simply log back in again I'm re-subscribed.

i had my free trial a few years ago, cancelled it ok, then went to try it again approx year later and obviously they said no,because i'd already had freebie,so i paid 6.99 a month for few months then cancelled ok again.I am about to go on again to have another look.Never had probs with them, perhaps you had bad timing and luck.

I'm no longer a member, but my account still exists. As soon as I log in I get a message telling me to renew my membership before I can view my report. It isn't automatic.

Have to say I didn't have any problems either when I cancelled.

  • I have cancelled just last week with no problems, they asked why and was my report accurate then cancelled it.

Why did you wait 3 months to chase it up? If they charged you the first month thats when you should of got on it. Plus also when you call there's documented evidence from their end that you've called.

When i called i waited about 5 mins to be put through, but cancelled it there no problems.

Why did you cancel by email rather than telephone?
If you would still like to cancel your Credit Expert membership you can do so by contacting our team on free phone 0800 656 9000 and selecting option 4.

This comes up quite a bit so just thought I'd say that for some people it can be inconvenient to use the telephone in working hours.
I work in an open plan office and apart from not wanting everyone to know my business, I actually don't want to disturb and office full of colleagues (it's a quiet office).
Costs and time spent are also highly visible to bosses.

I therefore prefer to do as much as possible on-line instead of by telephone.

Some people can't even get to a phone when they are working or get told off for making personal phone calls.

I can also get receipts from emails whereas there is no traceability on your side for a phone call (the other end may record nut I wouldn't rely on their co-operation in a dispute).

To prevent it happening again don't use the online system...order your paper report for 2 quid.;)
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
