my SIME Friendly Format combi boiler has had it - so the plumber says. i have a large 3 bed end terrace house with 8 radiators installed. i am obvisiously without propper heating at the moment. there are so many boiler makes and types - can anbody tell me the best make and type please.

My opinion, Alpha CD24C or Vaillant Ecotec 831. Both are 'A' rated and have stainless-steel main heat exchangers. Both are very reliable in my experience and are packed with good features.0

A key feature you may wish to consider is the size. If you use a shower directly from the combi boiler consider the flow rate per minute. 12 Lt./min is adequate, 15 Lt./min is better. Also, maybe save money by buying the boiler yourself, you buy flue and programmer separately. Lots of good makes to choose from. I have a Worcester 35 CDI and I am happy with it.Charles J0
