Transfering from Egg Money to bank

I have recently done a balance transfer and want to get money from my Egg money account.

What's the best way to do this?
I have sent a secure message asking for a BACS transfer but they seem to be taking days to look at these messages at the moment.

I know I could call them but I don't want them to respond to the call AND the messages.

So whats' the best way and how long do they take to respond to secure messages?

Thanks

I had the same problem a while back. Ended up phoning them up and they actioned it there and then. They must have put a note on my file, because when they eventually got around to processing my secure message they knew the task had already been done.

ok thanks, will phone them soon.
Just didn't want to get cross-communication where they action the phone call and then sometime later action the messsages.

It makes it quite difficult because since I sent the first message my balance has changed, so it's difficult to know what the balance will be at the time they do the transfer.

Better to make the transfer yourself?

Egg Money admin => Transfer a balance => current account/overdraft

No delays that way IME. :D

    Thanks for that.
The reason I didn't do it that way is that it says it take seven days to complete and BACS transfer should take max 4 working days.
So I thought it ws something different.

When I spoke to them on the phone they said 7-10 days, so I now think it's the same thing and they are just covereing themselves.
But I did initially think it must be something different (manual?) to a BACS transfer.

I've never requested a BACS transfer by secure message, because I'm not in control that way. I used to request them by phone, and they were manually actioned there and then, but stopped doing that when they stopped paying 1% cashback on 'em. :D

BT is the way to go because it's an automated process...and they always (for me) take the standard 3 days, ie action Monday/arrive Wednesday.

You just need to watch what you're doing these days (even more so), because as well as interest charges, there's also now the issue of the 3% BT fee/cash advance fee if you 'get it wrong' and create a negative balance with the transfer request. That's why I always stop using the card for purchases for a few days either side of a planned BT.

That is in fact one of the advanatages of going by phone (although I normally prefer automated systems).
They were able to tell me about pending transactions and factor them in.

I was just using Egg money as a mule card but I didn't fully appreciate the interaction with my spending.
It's wiped out my Xmas spending and given me a lower credit balance.
I should have realised, but never mind.
