House Contents Insurance Claim
Armry
Under our house contents cover we opted to add an additional extra cover premium for valuables, personal belongings and money.
I had a fall which resulted in a broken wrist.
My wedding ring was pushed into my badly swollen finger.
Before the doctor would treat my fracture my ring had to be cut off.
I rang the insurance company to find out the procedure for a claim on our insurance.
I was told I had no valid claim as it was not an accident but deliberate damage to my ring.
Anyone else had a successful claim on similar grounds?

It's an absurd interpretation of the policy and should be challenged.
Before you do so, consider the amount of the loss. Could the ring be repaired, is there an excess on the policy, could you lose some no claim bonus etc? It just may not be worth pursuing.0 -
