Pixie you could try Nationwide i think they will do it while you wait but cant swear to that. You will need two types of id though identification and residency. Alternatively try Aliiance and Leicester0

Your bank probably won't notice anything going on until it is too late. I owe Lloyds loads in 2 overdrafts and a loan and managed to get everything sorted before they realised. When my salary went in, my overdraft swallowed a lot - I paid my rent and then I took the rest out in cash over 3 days and put it into Co-op bank as soon as I had account number. I didn't get any DD bouncing charges because I had started to cancel these. I then had the £600 to last the month and had the security of knowing at least rent was paid. I paid the council tax manually (since that's a priority debt). Some direct debits rolled over into next month (e.g. pet insurance, life assurance and a couple of others said it was too late to reinstall so would add 2 payments together the following month) and TV licence reorganised the monthly amounts and instead of £10.99 the new DD was for £12.99. Lloyds didn't notice a thing and have accepted the DMP payments without a fuss.0

Manged to get my wages sorted etc no problem. Have to say i have found nat west to be ok with step accounts i know others have had probs with them but so far so good. Just pop in the branch on monday and speak to them i'm sure they will be able to help

Don't think so - I wasn't. I cancelled from my bank by internet - in fact I didn't tell the relevant companies for some time to give me some extra time. This meant they wrote to me, computer generated letters, saying my DD had been cancelled, would I like to set up a new one or would I be paying by some other method? I then phoned and said sorry, forgot to tell you, here are my new details. This meant I didn't have to worry while waiting for new bank account to become active and while waiting for next salary to be paid into it. Just remembered - electicity/gas (which ironically I buy from Lloyds!) let me pay 2 months together once my salary had gone into new account.0

Wonderful - thanks everyone.
I will go into the branch first thing on Monday (I work in the office block next door thats really handy) and try and get the details from them and then I will contact my HR dept at work straight away.
Ive cancelled my dd's on line so hopefully things will work out.
Thanks again everyone:jDebt Free At Last!:j0 -
I also set up my DDs much more rationally so they came out the day after salary went in - before, I had them coming out at all times of the month. Now it's much easier to budget - Payplan payment, rent and DDs all leave on the same day and then I can budget better - for the first time in my life!0

Just call CCCS and ask them not to notify your bank of your DMP until your wages are safe. They routinely leave your bank account til last anyway so that they can't keep the money by freezing your account.

Ooo, yes, I had forgotten this!! Payplan didn't approach Lloyds until I had opened a new bank account and first salary had gone into that one.0
