Hi folks,
I am considering ditching my sky+ setup in favour of a freeview digital PVR setup to avoid the ridiculous 400+ a year I pay for my sky subscription.
I mainly watch
Sky Sports --- Liverpool Matches only primarily for the champions league.
BBC
ITV
E4
More4
SkyNews
Most of the other channels I can live without.
Any tips?
Jules

Pretty sure you cant get Sky Sports via a top up, all the rest you watch available are on freeview. If Liverpool aren't on ITV, a trip to your local should work out cheaper than £400 a year, if not you need help !!0

Get NTL? I think all new customers get all 3 services (telephone, tv, internet) for £30/month or something like that.0

Here's a list of all the channels you can get on Freeview: http://www.freeview.co.uk/whatson/index.html
You can get Sky Sports News but not Sky sports itself.
You can get all the BBC channels one , two, three and four plus the BBCi Interactive service, BBC News 24 and CBBC and cbeebies
You can get all 4 ITV channels
E4 and E4+1 are available
Can't see more4 anywhere
Sky News is there as well

More4 is there as is More4 +1 and E4 and E4 +1. SKY Three is also freeview. There are also subscription channels available but they are not worth a mention in my view. If you cant see it then try an add channels option in your freeview box setup menu. There have been many shuffling of channels lately.

because if you use the sky box it comes from sky's satellite and sky only give you e4 with a subscription
a freeview box gets the signal from your digitally enabled freeview transmitter and e4 etc. is automatically broadcast with freeview.0 -
An extra point to note - make sure your area is freeview enabled and your tv transmitter is enabled for digital tv otherwise you won't pick it up or you would get a very weak signal from another transmitter.
Go to the freeview site I mentioned in one of my posts above, look on the homepage and there is a place to enter your postcode.0 -

Rubbish, More4 and E4 are available on Freeview. It is widely tipped that FilmFour will be available on Freeview sometime this year.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

If you get a proper freeview box and connect it to the freeview service then you will get it, but not with a free viewing card in a sky box you won't get it.0
