  • I use baking parchment..cut in cirlcles, with the donut hole, for my leather and it works well...a little fiddlier than neat squares but the andrew james was cheap and cheerful, and I can even say that an american lad thought I made great leather:D even though it was in weird triangles!

I have been tempted by the new rectangular dehydrator on Amazon because it has a variable temperature option which my current round dehydrator does not have. However, there are no reviews on Amazon so has anyone used this model or knows anyone else who has?

No size, Seakay, that I can find. Sort of info that should be supplied.

Their website says the overall size is 43cm x 28cm and it looks like the trays occupy most of that.

I recently bought a halogen oven. It has a dehydrator setting but absolutely no instructions in the ridiculously inadequate instruction book on how to use it! Can anyone enlighten me, please?

Seakay, I recently bought the Andrew James round one with a variable temp, it was on Ebay direct from them, £38.99 inc delivery.

Excal trays are 39cmx39cm.... 5 trays priced at over £200.
  • There must be someone out there who has one? Anyone? If you do, please let us know what it's like. I phoned the company and they said they have been selling them so even though there's only one or two reviews on amazon, they are selling well. She also said get one while its still on sale on amazon as it'll go back up to 99 pounds at some point. Hmm, to buy or not to buy, that is the question.

It's £44.75 from them direct with no P&P in the UK
  • Hi, totally new to the concept of drying food for storage.Looking for some advice. Is operating noise quite different between the different makes? Are the cheaper model plastic trays brittle and easily broken? Is a clear view of drying products through glass door a great advantage over having to dismantle the unit to view progress?
Have weighing up getting L'eqip filterpro 6 tray, against sedona 9 tray, or kitchenstar 10 tray. Any advice on model choice.
