I have my beady eye on this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wolf-Julie-Diane-Food-Dehydrator/dp/B0074N8JAY/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1348165660&sr=1-1
Anyone used one of these? I want to make jerky mostly and fruit leathers, no idea if this is the 'right' kind, more used to seeing the draw types.~"I don't cook so much since we moved out of reality...."~0 -

Starting to like the look of this one, might ask the OH for it for Xmas lol~"I don't cook so much since we moved out of reality...."~0 -
Sorry having connection problems today
That one on amazon looks like the one Lakelands are selling and the people on here (think PAH and grandma have one) who have them have said they're fine.
The cheaper the better really as it doesn't suit everyone,no sense in paying out for the large ones at first before you know wether you like the stuff, they're a bit like a slow cooker you love 'em or hate them
edit...i did it again didn't I...at first lol0 -

.
Yesterday I did apple peelings (for powder) strawberry ends, more tomatoes lol and some kiwis.:D
I have Googled apple powder and strawberry ends but cannot find out exactly what to do or what to then use them for. I'm very intrigued - how do you process them and what do you use them for? I love ideas which create something out of (almost) nothing!0 -
sorry seakay should have explained
strawberry ends-DS3 has strawberries everyday and has a particular way he likes them with the stalk end cut off,its so wasteful so I dry the ends to add into cereals and snack on.
apple powder- can be used to add flavour to drinks, but mainly I use it when I make cakes not only as a flavouring but to sneak in a few extra vitaminsI sometimes mix it with granulated sugar for a crunchy cake topping.
I do the same with lemon peel and limes I'm a bit stingy0 -

What fabulous ideas - thank you so much for sharing! And NOT stingy not to be wasteful!0
