Argh OH cashed in Nectar points in Sainsburys - any advice?

:(
Hi
I am hopping mad!!! Hubby does shopping (with list written in detail!) and gets lots of wrong stuff (more expensive!) AND to top it all, cashes in ALL the nectar points that I have been saving at till - because they asked!

I asked customer services the following day if could put them back and they said couldn't help sorry!_pale_

Anyone else been in similar situation? Is there really nothing to be done? :wall:

Sorry, not been in situation. However, I would ask oh, if can manage to speak to him, what exactly the sa said to him, as sometimes the way they phrase the question is confusing, then contact Nectar via their homepage. Its worth a try.

Is there any big advantage of collecting your nectar points, i dont find them that rewarding? I understand why you would collect Tescos but not sure on Nectar?

  • You are right - I am having difficulty speaking to OH! I wondered why he was looking SOO pleased with himself when he came home - shopping is no way his thang!
Wouldn't be so mad but he refuses to use my carefully collected coupons at the till to get money off yet has no hesitation in using my carefully saved nectar points!!!
I use points for getting kids clothes/shoes etc from Adams etc & get more (worth double) for my money than if cashing in instore!

Will try talking to nectar but am not holding out much hope!

Nectar are miles better then Tesco's as you HAVE to shop back in Tesco's.. but I know that will be changing in Feb.

Not really, if you read the various threads on here you can cash in your Tesco vouchers and get up to 4 times their value to use in other shops and for other services. £2.50 worth of Tesco vouchers gets me a £10 voucher for Yates Wine bar.

never been in that situation but I don't think there's anything they could do about it - if he has a joint card with you, then he can cash them in at the tills. They haven't done anything wrong in taking them off your card, my dh would know not to do this if they asked as I also collect them for Adams vouchers, but the card use is your responsibility and therefore I don't think they will put them back on just because your OH has used them. Sorry, don't mean to sound harsh, but can't put it across any other way. (and on that note I would personally go and thump your OH and demand the money back from him lol)

Could you please explain what is changing in Feb. Not sure if your comment refers to Tesco or Nectar change, but I've not heard of anything re. either of them.

i Spend a year saving up 8400 nector points and only got £40 of the shopping bill, not very good.
  • Unfortunately once it's gone from your card on your shopping I doubt if you'll get it back! Be kind to OH he probably thuoght he was doing his best....I'd have been livid as I use mine for Christmas in Argos.
