HP ipaq rz1710 and MP3 player

Hi Everyone

I have recently purchased the HP iPAQ rz1710 Pocket PC plus Tom Tom wired GPS (which is fantastic by the way!!) When i was reading the manul it states that it is also an MP3 player. But i really don't know how the MP3 player works on the PDA. I have gone through the Manul but there is only limited information. Does anyone know how the MP3 player works on the HP ipaq rz1710???

Glad you like TomTom on the iPaq - I would hate to be without mine now !!

I have an HP2210 and it opens MP3 files in Windows Media Player and plays them fine. I know you can get extra software to make the iPaq function as an 'IPod emulator' but I have not seen the need.

Perhaps if you navigate your way to an MP3 file on your iPaq and tell the device to play it, whatever is on your device as an 'MP3 Player' should open and play the file.

Is it possible to put any CD on any computer and play it on Window media - copy it and then download it onto my Ipaq? If so - how?

Entirely possible, but first you'd need to change the music format to mp3 to allow your player to recognise it and also to very much reduce the size of the file. There are loads of free rippers all work much the same. I use Free Rip http://www.mgshareware.com/ and also DBamp. Play the cd, run the ripper and it will 'rip' to mp3 (or whatever you choose).
